چکیده

We analyze the spectral moments of the V-A two-point correlation function. Using all known short-distance constraints and the most recent experimental data from tau decays, we determine the lowest spectral moments, trying to assess the uncertainties associated with the so-called violations of quark-hadron duality. We have generated a large number of “acceptable” spectral functions, satisfying all conditions, and have used them to extract the wanted hadronic parameters through a careful statistical analysis. We obtain accurate values for the χPT couplings L10 and C87, and a realistic determination of the dimension six and eight contributions in the operator product expansion, O6 = ( −5.4 − 1.6 ) ·10−3 GeV and O8 = ( −8.9 − 7.4 ) ·10−3 GeV, showing that the duality-violation effects have been underestimated in previous literature.

Local Quark-hadron Duality in Electron Scattering

We present some recent developments in the study of quark-hadron duality in structure functions in the resonance region. To understand the workings of local duality we introduce the concept of truncated moments, which are used to describe the Q dependence of specific resonance regions within a QCD framework.

∆ resonances : quark models , chiral symmetry and AdS / QCD

The mass spectrum of ∆ resonances is compared to predictions based on three quark-model variants, to predictions assuming that chiral symmetry is restored in high-mass baryon resonances, and to predictions derived from AdS/QCD. The latter approach yields a nearly perfect agreement when the confinement property of QCD is modeled by a soft wall in AdS. PACS: 11.25.Tq Gauge/string duality, 11.30.R...

Pinched weights and Duality Violation in QCD Sum Rules: a critical analysis

We analyze the so-called pinched weights, that are generally thought to reduce the violation of quark-hadron duality in Finite-Energy Sum Rules. After showing how this is not true in general, we explain how to address this question for the LR correlator and any particular pinched weight taking advantage of our previous work [1], where the possible high-energy behavior of the LR spectral functio...

A New Slant on Hadron Structure

Rather than regarding the restriction of current lattice QCD simulations to quark masses that are 5–10 times larger than those observed, we note that this presents a wonderful opportunity to deepen our understanding of QCD. Just as it has been possible to learn a great deal about QCD by treating Nc as a variable, so the study of hadron properties as a function of quark mass is leading us to a m...

Higher Twists in the Pion Structure Function

We calculate the QCD moments of the pion structure function using DrellYan data on the quark distributions in the pion and a phenomenological model for the resonance region. The extracted higher twist corrections are found to be larger than those for the nucleon, contributing around 50% of the lowest moment at Q2 = 1 GeV2. Understanding the structure of the pion represents a fundamental challen...
